Also good to remember the only time you have is right now; get that tattoo or start hrt. Who knows if tomorrow ever comes

Yeah those are fucking illegal where I live, as are prong collars and crating for long periods of time. All of those are animal abuse, and negative re-inforcement is a terrible way to train any animal anyway (humans included)
At least men get better walking and running animations. With women it’s that weird boobs first knees together -waddle
Tonava@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•[No PHPun Intended] A Brief History of Web Development8·13 days agoThat tracks, without any background in coding php is very simple to get into. I’m not a woman, but as a personal anecdote I’ve never done anything outside some self-taught hobby-level web designing requiring html and js, and I only know some php because it’s what was easiest to learn by myself to get the stuff I wanted done.
I’ve looked into actual programming languages a couple times, but I never get far since I don’t need them for anything and all the tutorials start super boringly and won’t tell about the possibilities you could potentially do; it’s assumed you already know. With php I just knew what I needed and did some web searches and found the answers, and that kinda spiraled into leaning along the way. There’s no way to do that if you don’t even know where to start
Tonava@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What app/program do you wish existed and what does it do that you've not found elsewhere?3·15 days agoYeah I’m trying to avoid MS if possible, especially since I probably have to try to make the jump to linux eventually with how things are going. I probably need to at least try Visio though, to see is it able to do what I want, so far I’ve had no luck with alternatives for it.
For example draw.io doesn’t seem to work for this (I’ve tried before as well), since I really need easy auto arranging for the nodes for it to be usable enough - and I haven’t been able to do that with it. So far the only thing that I’ve found to work even relatively well for what I want to do has been this even with it’s many limitations, since it allows to just pulling the lines wherever and it will auto arrange everything. When the trees grow to crazy sizes (over a hundred etc.), it’s almost impossible to make things work without the auto arranging, otherwise I wouldn’t even need the tools I’m looking for…

Tonava@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What app/program do you wish existed and what does it do that you've not found elsewhere?4·17 days agoI wish there’d be a proper family tree generator, I’ve been searching for one for so long. All the things existing now seem to be old and made to create actual existing family trees with lots of limitations, but I’d really need a tool to use for world building and that kind of stuff. To allow you create profiles with a lot of data for the characters in the tree, so you could view the info in some easy way, maybe by clicking to open an info window, or something like that. To be able to easily link them to each other with other things than just family relations (like friends, lovers, enemies…). Being able to properly put a picture on the profiles so it would show there in the tree, not just a name. Just being able to properly view the whole family tree at once by zooming in and out would be so nice, and to link it with other family trees etc…
There are games that have some family tree functions, but I don’t need nor want a gaming experience. I want to do these things freely, not with having to play some shit to be able to unlock something, or to have family trees generated around just played characters. I’ve tried using mind map generating stuff as well, but they have limited features, and it’s difficult to just create branches with them since everything is supposed to link back to one single thing.
If anyone knows about something like this existing somewhere, please do tell me!
This is why I need internet. Every time a question pops up (like etymology of some word or what is the native range of some bird or other obscure stuff) I can just search for the answer. Sometimes the information doesn’t exist, but even that is an answer, just not the one you wanted. Obviously it can also spiral into finding so much interesting stuff that you forget everything else and do couple hours or pointless research into subject that doesn’t really matter, but that’s not a downside if you look at it from a certain perspective.
What I really don’t understand is how so many people end up wondering about some facts in a conversation, then everyone goes “huh, that’s a good question” and just drop the subject and talk about something else. It usually takes less than a minute to do a quick search and everyone has a phone these days. So… how? How?!
Tonava@sopuli.xyzto Games@lemmy.world•What are your favourite single-player games without much fluff, grinding or difficulty spikes?English3·1 month agoHave you tried sandbox-like games, or just games that basically have no story line? Or is the more “adventuring” type of gameplay the one you enjoy the most? Personally I seem to find most games kinda boring outside puzzlegames and sandbox-things, since the typical stuff always has at least some form of grinding and I don’t really like fighting either.
I think his reasoning was to see how far the sign holding folks would go for money, and they apparently didn’t really have any limits. Should he have done and shown it on youtube is the thing he can be criticized for

I got autism diagnosis as an adult mostly because of my long struggle with depression and physical health problems. Having the official diagnosis helps when interacting with health care; it is a confirmation that my needs differ from a neurotypical and they have to act accordingly. Now I can point to the diagnosis whenever needed, so they don’t for example try to force stuff on me that just won’t work (like group therapy).
