Flying a confederate flag in Pennsylvania is about the most ridiculous thing I can think of off-hand. In the south, they’re all about “it’s not about racism, it’s about heritage!” People flying it in the north are, like, “Nope, racism! I don’t have any heritage with this, except its heritage of racism!”
There are people undecided on whether they will be voters. Plenty of people who would vote Republican who could not bring themselves to vote Democrat even against fascism, or a candidate with dementia, or a felon, might be convinced to just stay home. And plenty left-leaning types who can’t be assed to go to a ballot box might find the motivation when they have someone that actually seems presidential, who they might want to have as a president (when apparently the threat of fascism wasn’t enough of a motivation).

Even if that were true, which is truly ridiculous, new factions would pop up. If it swayed so far left that the Democrats always won, all the further left people would demand all the things they’ve been left without just to keep fascists from winning.
Basically, it would just be a leftward shift of the Overton window, which is LONNNG overdue. But it certainly wouldn’t be the end of elections, that’s stupid.

I’ll be honest, with the exception of “Keep Us Connected” I absolutely hated the musical episode… except the first time they mentioned that it had affected a Klingon vessel. And then I powered through in the hopes of seeing Klingon musical time, and when it happened, it redeemed the whole thing for me. Better than I could have hoped.

Gotta second Henson. Best shave I’ve gotten, and after buying a 100 pack of the razor blades (for, like, $10) I don’t think I’ll ever have to buy anything to shave with ever again. I only shave once or twice a week (and do a light pass with an electric razor between), so I use a new blade every 3-4 weeks. Plus since it’s double-sided, I get two sets of passes per rinse, which doesn’t seem like much but it feels a lot more efficient.
I bought it to not have to buy a crap ton of 5-blade cartridges and nonsense, but my constant razor burn has completely gone away, so it’s generally better.

The prosecutor had already dropped the charges. Was this a Civil suit by the parolee against the sheriff and deputy? What is the actual outcome here other than “yeah, they totally weren’t allowed to do that. Glad that’s cleared up, let’s go grab lunch.”?
Have you listened to his Mythos Trilogy? It’s a compendium of Greek Mythology. He wrote and narrated it and it is brilliant. I’m on Troy right now (the third book).
I agree that they public schools should teach the history and dangers of communism. And the history and dangers of capitalism. And the history and danger of monarchies. And the history and dangers of democracy (and republics). And especially the history and dangers of fascism.
Those are all important subjects to teach, and there is not a governmental or economic system in current or previous existence that wasn’t vulnerable to corruption, inefficiency, or evil in some way. An educated populous is the way to mitigate those vulnerabilities.
Right? What other possible materials could they use? Prior to plastic, we just cupped our hands and had people pour beverages into them, or directly into our mouths.
Plastics have been revolutionary in keeping our hands and faces from getting sticky. I, for one, refuse to go back to the days of sucking off the tap.
