This weekend a whole lot of sunlight had the opportunity of beating me about the face, neck, and arms. I’m not embarrassed, really, but I am a bit red in the face about it

Same. I have had particularly poor results on image searches from duckduckgo. It’s on par or superior to Google for general web searches, but man, Google image search is still better

I have a friend that works with a rescue group in Colorado, almost exclusively for cattle dogs. They rescue and re-home the dogs for a variety of reasons. The most prevalent is the dog can’t work anymore and will be put down. That’s it. It got too old and is consuming resources without producing.

I’m not saying all farmers and ranchers are like this, but the mentality certainly exists. These people see certain life as a commodity only, and it often extends to cruelty to “lower life”. It’s even at the root of calling people who aren’t in their tribe “lower life”, and devaluing them accordingly

There’s a lot of crapping on Boeing here, and don’t get me wrong, they’ve earned the criticism. However, I’d be very surprised if this incident wasn’t actually traced back to maintenance issues with the airline.

If course, that was also my thought when i first heard about the plug door, and it lasted up until I learned the plane was so new it likely hadn’t even been through it’s first A check.
