I have 2 octane’s. Both would be better utilized as boat anchors. Cool to see one working!
Fdroid is only for FOSS applications. Sync is proprietary which is also why I stopped using it after years and years when FOSS reddit apps got “good nuff’”.
I bet they had to get the shovel to dig up that low bar.
I have a small and humble set up. Pihole on my old Pi3, OpenMediaVault, Kavita, Qbittorrent on my Pi 4 and my other Pi 4 is running fucked up Lemmy and Mastodon instances because I’m new to this stuff.
But yeah dude, I used reddit for like 12 years lol. So I feel where you are coming from, it’s definitely a hole. But I remember the old times when everything was more spread out and communities were smaller so it’s not a huge deal to me. But the internet is constantly changing so I hope you stick around so we can make something better!
I deleted Infinity yesterday after I deleted my reddit accounts. I liked the app and loved that it was on fdroid. Would love to see a fork made for Lemmy and the fact that he is still keeping it opensource is pretty good.
I have no trust in reddit at this point so I have no plans on going back. I should of seen the writing on the wall when they went closed source.
I know that I am NOT going to federate with anything Meta on my Mastodon instance. I have zero trust in Meta and this whole thing feels fishy.
That’s why I went for the nuclear option and deleted 13 years of accounts and comments, a lot of those comments being fixes for various Linux issues, I hate deleting something that could help someone, but I figure a lot of them are old enough to not really be needed anymore.
That’s pretty badass. I remember hearing about cool use cases like that back in the day before it got solidified into what reddit is now.
Right? I’m absolutely loving this shit because of that. Lol back over a decade ago or so I actually made internet friends in a few more obscure subreddits. Good luck with doing that now.
I would like to, that’s why I bought them lol. It’s just that those fragile connectors kinda freak me out and from what I read I need a special monitor? I don’t know too much about SGI machines since most of my collection are IBM/IBM compats.
