Yea, I typically also don’t care much for their live performances, the orchestra and “funny commercial interruptions” not to mention endless Game Pass ads.

Nothing will make me watch this thing live. The ability to fast forward is essential for this show and I do so through 80% of the duration.
Yummmm. I mean, no yumm, but so pretty.
We had two trees die of “sunstroke” a year ago, so it’s nice to see underground life continues!
Near Seattle and I see them everywhere these days.
Oboy, i do!
Unless you have to use the platform, there’s always an option to leave. I found it very liberating to no longer be a part of any social media (except lurking on Lemmy). Give it a thought 🤔
According to the logic of this video it costs Valve $0 to produce steam decks. Jeez, the Internet is so filled up with these unresearched, amateurish attempts at journalism.
Watched it a few days ago. Great talk, as always.
So weird to see a liberal content creator use that weird selective title case that became submissions with conservative posters. (You know, capitalizing the first letter of some words)
Edit: to clarify, I’m not trying to create drama or accuse anyone of anything. I’m just curious because I always associated this style of capitalization with certain discourse (or with German language)
Double dipping with the answers, but it would be awesome if we could toggle filters on and off. My list of filtered communities is enormous (40+ just for various sports teams I don’t care to see on the everything feed), but if like to sometimes disable all filters just to see how the standard experience looks.
I imagine a toggle for each filter category (instance, community, users…)
Last time I tried using the spoiler tag, I got multiple people responding telling me sync used syntax different from what Lemmy standard is. Not sure if that’s been fixed yet, but sounds like an easy one.
Yell yell woke angry! (JK)
In all seriousness, thank you for keeping your ear to the ground and reacting to the changing climate of Lemmy as a platform. Even though I only lurk in this community, I just wanted to express my support for keeping the space and its visitors safe®.
It also made me realize that perhaps (in other communities) I only bothered to participate in conversations when I disagree - so ten more points to admins for making this one retrospect a bit.
eBay has become the place for scalpers to sell overpriced wares, after they emptied store shelves. From toilet paper to graphics cards, that’s where the buyout stock, sell for profit happened.
Now even without shortages, this philosophy persists at eBay. Nothing to lose for them, free money to make on uninformed buyers.
Worst case they end up not selling and can possibly return items for full refund.
Scummery at it’s finest
Baldurs Gate 3 on Steam Deck is basically turning electricity into heat with some frames produced as a side effect :)
In the immortal words of James Stephanie Sterling “corporations don’t just want some money. They want all of the money”
As a viewer I’d love to have (more than) twice the amount of episodes. Knowing the reality of TV/film production though - it would come at a cost of quality. We’d see filler episodes, we’d have much less elaborate sets, plotlines…
I think quality is better than quantity in most cases.
Reminder: gas prices have next to nothing to do with Russia’s war in Ukraine. They are artificially hiked up by the producers simply because they can (and because the world is transitioning away from fossil and it’s one of their last tangos)
As a fellow GenX I could not agree more. I was absolutely hyped when Trek returned to cinemas only to get increasingly disappointed by a “star wars reboot proof of concept” approach to the movies.
When Discovery came around I was all in, but soon it turned into a shooting gallery pew pew show and became the first Trek show I abandoned mid-way.
Picard was a confusing mess where they made friends with Borg only to fight Borg next season… and then ended to the crowd’s applause because showrunners drowned it in memberberries.
Strange New Worlds is about discoveries and relationships and science. It’s goofier than TOS or TNG but in a nice, friendly way. It does not try to be edgy or shocking - it feels fresh and engaging, just like TNG, DS9 and VOY felt when they were first broadcast.
I guess we’re just about to wrap up the second season, so it may be too early to call - but SNW is way on the way to becoming my favorite Trek, not just of the modern era but of all time.
Probably some kind of exoskeleton. This thing is heavy.
