PriorityMotif@lemmy.worldOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•I reinstalled because I don't know what I'm doing.4·12 days agoIt was stock Ubuntu. Everything was working fine for a long time. The only thing I can think of is that I was trying to get rdp going last week so I could access my main PC from a thin client in my garage. Maybe I got “hacked”? Otherwise it could be some issue with the PC, a used hp business pc, nothing special. When I first tried to load the fedora image it did the same thing, other recovery images from medicat worked. Then later trying the fedora image worked. I also reseated ram and ssd, unplugging everything and trying different monitors, etc. before trying anything else.
Everything seems fine now, I just need to install all of my applications again.
I’ll tell ya wut

I created. [email protected] to discuss selling on various platforms. I just flipped a PC I built yesterday for a $60 profit.
Each does it alone she just has to run around the outside real quick after each time or they do it relay style and pass her off to the next one.

It’s good for the engine to breathe and stretch it’s legs a little bit and blow out any carbon that has built up. I agree that in town it makes no sense in town to floor it all the time. I noticed that the lights in my town are mostly timed to the speed limit.

I did get 10.10.10.3 to work by putting :69 at the end 0.0.0.0 accepts all ip addresses attempting to connect to the server, not secure, but fine for a one off like this. I still can’t get the thing to connect to the server, but I did something at least.

Ubuntu has built in hotkey functions that let you run terminal commands. You just write a bash script and run it with the hotkey.
My family member got one in early childhood ed and can’t find a job because he’s over qualified and their afraid they’ll just find a better job.
PriorityMotif@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do Americans pretend they're not broke when most Americans are in debt?14·1 month agoI have enough to pay off my house right now but I’m not because the interest rate is both lower than inflation and what I earn from interest, and other invesents, plus the increase in home values. If I paid off the house today then I also wouldn’t have as much in my emergency fund. I have 5 years left of the mortgage, I’m paying roughly $50/mo interest which goes down every month.
The video out is just an rca cable you can plug it into a more modern tv in the yellow video port. I’m using an lcd tv I have for older stuff.
I just picked one up for $20. Missing the cable for the double disk drive though and it had a bad psu and I have no disks. Basically it’s a money pit. But fun to mess with anyway.
This one is on the high voltage side it’s an NPN transistor p/n C3679. It’s showing connectivity through the collector and Emitter in both directions meaning it’s bad. I ordered several in case I pop the first one since there could be more bad components. If I can’t fix this one then I really need to get ahold of some kind of PSU that has -5v so that I can test the computer itself before I go spending $50+ on a good factory PSU.
I made [email protected] for discussing this very thing. I wrote a beginners guide to eBay. I recently figured out that people on marketplace care more about PCs with a windowed case and rgb lights over system specs.
Unfortunately it has a vintage aftermarket power supply in it. I found a bad transistor so far, the caps seem ok.
It’s a ryzen 3400g with 16gb ddr4 ram and a fairly new nvme ssd. Although I do have a really old 1.5tb drive acting as the backup drive. I’ve been looking at cloud backup solutions in case that dies.
