The year of the punch card desktop.
Car enthusiasts are much more welcoming and helpful than computer experts. Just look at stack exchange.
You can usually find step by step instructions for fixing most cars. My library has a subscription to Chilton online, so I can use it from home and look at repair procedures and wiring diagrams. Just use forums and YouTube to fill in the gaps. I’ve even diagnosed a car from Amazon reviews since I suspected a certain part was bad and looked at reviews that said the exact symptoms.
I don’t own an IBM mainframe so.
ESXi sucks
What really chaps my ass is when they don’t bother to tell you. It always happens when I’m filling out a form and find out that the submit button just doesn’t do anything. Then I have to go back through chrome just to fill out the same form a second time.
Thanks for making Lemmy!
AI can easily replace upper and middle management.
It’s pretty rare to have high performance requirements in an embedded application. Many people load one project onto their pi and for most cases it’s overkill. If you need modern codecs, then buy a streaming box. If you want a nas, then buy a nas. You also need to factor in the additional ~$20-$30 of stuff that you need just to boot up a pi.
I unloaded my pi 4 on eBay those past summer because the prices were so high and got the thin client for cheaper. No regrets.
It comes with built in storage and a power supply, plus a passive cooling system, a case obviously, and removable RAM up to 16gb. It has dual display port, idk about resolution, I run it headless anyway. There is also a bigger version with a pice slot.
Ok, I can buy a quad core thin client for $30. The prices for these are too high for what they are.
Car parts. I can have a part in two days, it’s the same part that the parts store carries, but 1/4 the price. Fuck them parts stores.
There actually were quite a few issues in 2016 that legitimately could have caused him to win.
The prime minister has an axe to grind with Palestine because his own brother was killed in an operation ~50 years ago. He’s stated many times that he has no intention of any kind of peace and he’s only using a tragedy to take revenge. It’s no different than the u.s. going into Afghanistan after 9/11 and then using that as a foothold when they invaded Iraq under dubious circumstances. It’s completely indefensible.
There’s is pretty much one sketchy site for this stuff I can’t remember the name of it, but I think it requires a payment to access downloads. Almost all pirated car software comes from eastern Europe.
You want to have at least 3 if you’re going to do that. I usually use the one on the mobo for all the other services and management. Then a dedicated port for lan and wan on a separate nic.
Their argument for “safety” always bothered me, their app store is full of garbage and malware. They just want their 30% cut.
It could also be that they are better about reporting incidents than other employers. I’m also curious what they mean by “the industry” if they mean automotive manufacturers or manufacturing in general. I work at a plant that makes parts for heavy equipment, which is similar to automotive, but obviously not automotive. We’ve had 2 recordable incidents this year. One of which was due to someone not wearing their issued cut resistant gloves while handling metal scraps and then needing stitches. There wasn’t any reason for them not to wear their gloves except for laziness or complacency.
Legally, you’re allowed to make copies of games that you own and use them in an emulator. You can download mods, play multiplayer across the Internet when servers get shut down and also take advantage of better hardware and get better resolution and framerates, then there are quality of life improvements like savestates.
