For me it’s usually only after they’ve died. They have this bitter, extremely unpleasant acidic smell to them.
We probably don’t agree.
I probably said something you didn’t like.
You look lovely, by the way. New shirt?
For me it’s usually only after they’ve died. They have this bitter, extremely unpleasant acidic smell to them.
I’ve always been able to smell them. I can’t believe there are people out there who can’t. My world has been rocked.
I’ll legitimately be moving to Linux today. This just broke the camel’s back for me.
This is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen. The complexity of life just continues to astound me.
Here in Australia, there aren’t any bullshit field sobriety tests - the breathalyzer just comes out and you get tested. If you blow over, you then wait 15 minutes if you produce a lower reading, before trying again. If you still blow over, you then go to the station to get a proper test done before the police can legally prove anything.
There are obviously freedom-based downsides to mandatory roadside testing, but if the alternative is the kind of shit in this story, then I’m happy with our system here. Never had an issue with it myself… unless we’re talking roadside drug testing, which is flawed as fuck, and most of the time produces a positive result the day after, leading to a loss of license. We literally have ‘road safety’ billboards along our highways plastered with the tagline “get caught long after the high is gone.”
Australia is so fucking behind the times in so many ways, it drives me insane.
Is Session actually secure though? I know they’re based in Australia, and as an Aussie myself, holy fuck would I not trust this country for even a fraction of a picosecond with anything private or sensitive. We have some of the world’s most draconian and far-reaching digital privacy and surveillance laws, and I’m not ready to accept that Session hasn’t been secretly compromised by the AFP, given the law against revealing government backdoors.
Happy to be proven wrong, but I always err on the side of extreme caution when it comes to Australia. Digitally, we’re closer to the CCP than any of our fellow western nations.
I was a member of What.CD back in the day, and holy fuck, the elitism was insufferable… but the amount of genuine lossless music was unlike anywhere else, and the site was so well organized.

Believe me, the world is better off not seeing me in a short skirt and thigh highs.
I like girls. I like how they look, I like the way they sound, I LOVE their fashion options. It isn’t really any deeper than that. That said, I’ll usually always play a male character in a Souls title, because [insert valid reason for inconsistency here.]
EDIT: I guess if I had to further expand on this, I’d say that female characters give me a way to explore options I don’t have as a tall, bearded, broad, ‘built’ man. I’ve always loved cuteness, hyperfeminine fashion, “girly stuff”, and so in addition to just really, really liking girls, video games allow me to explore the cute, feminine avenues I can’t in the real world.
Also, as another commenter stated, I’d also just rather look at a girl’s ass than a guy’s for the entirety of a playthrough lmao
AuDHD here, and I think he’s fantastic.
Innertune is fantastic. I recommend it to everyone looking for genuinely good alternatives to enshittified music services.
Why, you could be hooked up to this device right now. Yes, you.
As someone who uses GrapheneOS but knows very little about the technical side of things, what implications does this have for the OS? I’ll actually just not use a smartphone anymore if I’m going to be forced back onto the privacy nightmare that is stock Android.
“If you refuse to return to the office, we will assume you work on behalf of North Korean intelligence, and will be monitored by our WFH bots. Please keep your curtains open.”
This is how I do it too. I bought a mini office PC and HDMI’d it to the TV. It’s nothing fancy, just an i5, a wifi card and IHD GPU. I threw Kodi onto it, cancelled every streaming service I was using, and then returned to the high seas to fill up the 10TB external HDD I connected. When a new episode of something drops, I just download it and then Kodi nicely organizes everything.
InnerTune is what finally got me to ditch Spotify. It’s free, no account required, uses YouTube Music (so imo, a wider range of content) AND shuffle is genuinely random.
32 here, so definitely not your age, but I just want to let you know that you’re not as alone in this as you think. I’ve also degoogled my life, I don’t use any social media outside of kbin and reddit (just to keep up to date on my city via its subreddit), use Signal as my messenger, Proton for email, NewPipe for YouTube, InnerTune instead of Spotify and GrapheneOS with aggressive app permissions instead of Android, all sitting behind Mullvad VPN and a privacy focused web browser.
I’ve never felt so free of corporate bullshit, and the ‘convenience’ I’ve given up hasn’t affected my life anywhere near as drastically as I thought it would. I just wish everyone could realize how easy it is to ditch the surveillance machine and still retain an easy, convenient digital life.
