The low cost of living is nice.
Worrying about literally everything that the state government does and knowing that my neighbors, at best, care more about political alignment with their neighbors than they care about the wellbeing of the people or their freedom is not nice.
For me, I think it just depends. Kind of like how “the” can be “thee” or “thuh” depending on how much I’m enunciating.
If you live in a blue state, have you thought about moving to a red state? If enough people do, they’ll turn blue. (Seriously, California could easily flip the federal government by taking over a few red states. Please come to Arkansas and help us save it.)
How many people do you think will be apathetic (both ways)? How many of the people who are already tuned into his edgy humor will care?
It’s not a PR disaster because it might cost him his base. The question is whether it will cost him people in the middle who don’t particularly like that shit. It probably won’t,but if there’s a chance it costs him half a point I’ll take it.

It’s been 4 years since Trump left office, 8 years since he took office. And people don’t pay as much attention as we do. They legitimately don’t remember how bad his presidency was.
The single most destructive thing he did was pack the courts with radicals (largely thanks to McConnell blocking Obama’s last two years). And nobody even talks about that, nor would a centrist care about the judicial system.
However I have heard these people criticize him for one thing, no climate agenda.

I think they missed the point of Walz. He represents a lot of classic masculine values, just without the toxic ones.
I think what’s even sadder is that so-called moderates and centrists won’t care. Trump didn’t win in 2016 due to his cult. He won because everyday people recognized how fucked up he was and decided they didn’t care.
For accuracy’s sake, he said he walked in on the adult pageants. He was also accused of walking in on the teen pageants.
I’m 100% certain he did both though.
As Trump found out in 2020, only the final vote count matters.

Trump also appeals to a lot centrists because he gives off “strong man” vibes and attacks people they are uncomfortable with without appearing radical. That’s why they’re going so hard on “trans” right now.
Also, people seriously forget about shit from 4 years ago. Any Dem would be facing the same problem.
Also, states that vote more heavily for a candidate do not count any more heavily for one candidate or another. It doesn’t matter if 60% of your state votes blue or 90%.
Meanwhile a purple state that votes 51% red gives all of their votes to the Republican.
He’s trying to scare his base into giving more.
I assume microtargeting is messaging that is only shown to a very small number of people rather than targeting which is shown to a lot of people in the hopes that certain people will see it.

I thought the last debate was surprisingly good. They called out any lies that were egregiously bad or dangerous because of the extremity of the lie, like baby murder and the pet eating myths.
I didn’t watch this debate though. How was the fact checking different?
Also, if they are look at the ups and downs, hopefully they invested when it hit the dip.
