  • My trick is melatonin and PBS YouTube videos, audio only. Ones I’ve seen before.

The audio is enough to keep my mind from running on it’s own and eventually the melatonin kicks in to take it down while it’s distracted by dinosaurs or whatever.

Melatonin on it’s own will just make me suffer being tired but not able to rest my mind enough to fall asleep.

Listening to something interesting like an audiobook will do the same.

It needs to be something that will catch my attention but also not be something I really want to hear more of.

Music doesn’t keep my mind from wandering like speech does.

  • I’ll tell you, I have my setup to the point where I go to one website, subscribe to a show, and episodes of that show appear to watch on my TV same day they are released.

I also set myself up to get email alerts telling me what new episodes I have to watch when they are done being downloaded.

… Setting all that up took me awhile and will take tech skills. But now that it’s set up, it’s zero touch aside from adding new shows.

Plus, I never have to worry about trying to find where to stream at it and even if my Internet goes out I can still watch my shows

  • Anytime you are doing any kind of military or police action within a civilian area there is always the risk of unintended civilian harm.

If police and military forces took this doctorine that any amount of risk is too much then they simply would be unable to operate.

There has to be a certain amount of acceptable civilian risk and that should be proportional to the threat you are attempting to stop.

Just to clarify, I’m not advocating that Israel is taking acceptable risks. But I am advocating that those risks will always exist with ANY police or military action and the primary debate is over where the red line of acceptable/unacceptable is.
