You arent kidding. I’ve been trying to justify spending $275 on some Super Red Ember Bees or “settle” for $150 on six Blonde Rubber Ducky isopods.

I’ll be paying and having no second thoughts about it.

I know you all LOVE to scream “shiver me timbers” at the drop of a hat but for me it’s just to much hassle. At the end of a long day at work I don’t want to have to figure out if my torrents are properly managed or use potentially questionable websites.

What I want to do is come home, press the microphone button on my shield remote, tell it what I want to watch and let it go. No hassle, no fuss, I don’t care about anything so incredibly much that if it suddenly wasn’t available then I NEED to have it at any cost. To me that kind of “have to have it right now and at all times forever and ever” mentality is just as bad as the rampant blind consumerism that the majority of humanity seems to embrace. If I want something that bad I’ll find a way to purchase it physically.

I do this with bands. I will find something new and amazing and listen to nothing else 20 hours a day, 7 days a week for a month or so.

Then it’s time to move on to something else and likely never look back.

The update works fine for me. No real complaints at all.

How good have you found ChatGPT to be? My understanding is that sometimes it’s great but other times it’s way off base. Then you have to figure out what went wrong and you know how the saying goes “You don’t know what you don’t know.”

Wow, I had no idea that React Native basically ran most major programs in existence. Looks like it might be time to sit down and take some online courses/YouTube tutorials for this thing if I really want to get serious with this project.

We developed a system that looks for red and when it sees red it KNoOOoOAwwWWss that it is seeing red and does stuff. It’s a super effective, ground breaking, world shaping, paradigm changing AI system. Give us money please.

I’m in full agreement here. I will always try to support the things I follow the most but probably my favorite thing about current media is finding a random person who does something incredibly niche and watching/listening a vid/song or two of theirs. I’ll come every couple of months or so but I’m not consuming their content regularly. Tutorials as you mentioned are a great example of this.

I did the math a year or two that if I paid a single dollar to every YouTuber I watch and musician I listen to on Spotify I would be paying around $400 a month. In an idyllic world I would have a stable job with enough expendable income to make that happen. In this reality I don’t see that as a possibility.

I had a captcha that had you click to place a single dot at the end of a line. They get weird sometimes.

I’m an extrovert with a spinal injury. I’ve only left the house for doctors visits a half dozen or so times in the last 7 months.

It’s really bad compression. It’s a screenshot of a screenshot of a screenshot from 2 years ago. The original as far as I can tell is from Facebook.

Reverse image searching this for… reasons, shows an original post date of a Facebook screenshot 2 years ago. Image generators were absolutely in their infancy and you would be lucky if you got a single finger with the correct amount on knuckles let alone the amount of hands here with the correct amount of fingers.

I’ll offer him $10. As a measurement of a percentage of my personal wealth I am offering double what Elon is offering.

If I could figure out how to move all my favorites and playlists AND continue discovering obscure music from around the world with ease, I would replace Spotify.

I can’t think of another way for me to discover something like Indian Metal, all female Cuban acapella group, or power ambient deep in the middle of nowhere farmland NY. It’s not like those are going to be played on the radio. But I can type a random combo of letters and numbers into Spotify and start a radio based on the first band I don’t recognize. Let the discovery commence.

It’s personally a catch 22 for me.

I listen to an absolutely absurd amounts of different artists. A large portion of them simply don’t have albums available for purchase and if they did… I would actually go broke buying all the stuff I listen to.

Every single day I type in a Combo of 2 random letters and numbers into spotify and listen to the first artist I don’t recognize.

It really sucks that Spotify doesn’t pay the artists anything reasonable but I haven’t found an alternative that allows me to consume as much different music as I currently do.

This isn’t even including the podcasts and audio books into the equation.
