it’s screen is 720. I would not expect Nintendo to go above 1080 on the screen and maybe output a scaled-up 4K when docked.
I don’t doubt it… Nintendo is always years behind.
The PS5 came out in 2020 and this Switch2 is probably a year away. So that would make their hardware be roughly 4 years old in terms of power. Plus if this is roughly the size of the current Switch, it won’t be pushing more than HD-resolutions (current Switch is only a 720 display), so getting PS5-level graphics on a 1080 screen these days is not particularly complicated or expensive.
one unresolved corner of physics
Hardly! People board airplanes every single day and we still don’t fundamentally understand the mechanisms of how lift works.
I don’t know what hex-bear is.
That entire site is toxic as all hell.
How many people have been banned from one sub because they posted in another sub? It happened to me, and I’ve heard it happening to a few others. It wasn’t even anything bad or offensive or controversial. It was literally just the fact that I posted in one sub, made the mods in another sub think they could ban me in this other sub. WTF? And of course there is zero recourse with those clowns.
Is that device out of production? They might be counting on limited availability to jack up prices.
Is that product not available in all markets? They might be counting on someone in Sweden, who might not be able to buy that device is willing to pay a premium.
Was there a recent price drop? Maybe this is listed in the product’s old peice amd they are slow to drop it.
I wonder if it it just straight up money laundering.
Let this idea catch on. And not just with airlines either. Restaurants, movie theaters, basically anywhere that kids go and parents are too lazy to control them.
No way to hack the hardware and allow it to be used for something else?
They are laughing at you, not with you.
All they are doing is shifting the responsibility and liability into you.
They want to control the discussion about R2R. Rather than having pro-consumer groups set the rules, they rather have their influence dictate the rules to R2R from the inside. They know that participating in the process both makes them look good, but also let’s them control the discussion.
They want you using authorized Apple parts using authorized Apple tools and installing authorized Apple software. But using your labor to do it. Probably one of the biggest bottlenecks in the phone repair chain is the labor to open up and repair the phone. So for Apple it is a win-win to off-load that manual labor onto the user. If they fuck up the phone, then it is a win for Apple because that person now needs a new phone. If the repair goes successfully, it is still a win for Apple because the user is still locked into their ecosystem and they just bought some highly marked-up parts and didn’t give more work to their probably overloaded repair supply chain.
If you think it is bad at Target, go to the local Walmart.
I really think that can be said for a lot of shows. First few episodes, and sometimes the first few seasons don’t hit like the later ones. Simpsons, Seinfeld, TNG, Arrested Development and a lot of other shows were constantly on the cusp of getting canceled until they got their audience and the writers hit their stride with the story.
It happens so much to shows that we know ended up turning out good, that it always makes me wonder how many shows were canceled a few episodes or maybe a season or two sooner than they should have.
Oh I get that was the tone of shows back then. Get Smart was another one. It’s just not my cup of tea for the most part.
Of course the irony is that I think shows (especially movies) these days are too serious and I almost wish they were a little more fun and playful like they were back in the 60s/70s. Just as long as they don’t go too silly.
I wouldn’t say they are related at all, at least in terms of how the TV comes off vs the movies even though the cast is the same. TOS TV show is not too dissimilar to the old school Batman show in it’s corniness. Not to that level of silliness, but they were contemporaries of each other when they aired on TV in the late 60s.
Picard is definitely the top card there, but seriously the rest of the cast was damn good too.
Had a rather large crush on Beverly and Troy. Hubba hubba
Ugh. I’ve run into this. Even when they are actually speaking English, no one would actually call it understandable English. Very common in technical and engineering related subjects.
