I know and htop didn’t show 100% usage either. It just felt like CPU overhead.
I believe that tells enough.
Wayland does improve performance but only in some perspectives (for example, UI smoothness). In my case the negative impact looked like CPU overhead. It was easier to make the system stutter and some apps like Firefox worked more sluggishly. I suspect it’s because of how Wayland works fundamentally.
Do you use screenreaders?
Yes but usually it’s the other way around.
If you won’t find a fix, just try switching to the other display protocol. It might help.
But we’re talking about streaming here, not local playback.
This is an opinion but a very questionable one. However it’s impossible for those who support it to understand it because of their severe mental issues. That’s where physical elimination should come into play imo.
Also since both of our opinions include aggressive attitude towards certain groups, you may not argue with that aspect.
Pretty nice one but requiring A9+ is not the best thing.
Off with your head for supporting the accessibility nightmare that is Wayland :)
Because I tried Wayland vs X11 on older hardware and sometimes it was noticeably slower?
What does a file format have to do with music streaming apps?
I’m personally not a fan of its design but yea everyone likes their own thing.
Xfce is mostly used on older hardware. Dying to see how many times slower it’ll become on Wayland. I’m guessing 3x.
Wait but it hasn’t been 2 years yet!
Well you have to sacrifice something in order to make old hardware work.
