HDO Box, Onstream, BeeAnime are quite good. You don’t need debrid or a VPN for them as they’re not torrenting.

However the reason why those non-tech savvy have access to pirated content for free, with fast download speeds and with unlimited downloading is because of torrents. Bittorrent is what makes that possible.

Least blatant marketing post. You’re not even in a fitting sub.

But his ISP router will have UPNP enabled which does it for him.

Flud is an Android client and it’s as easy as it gets.

P2P being what made it popular is still the truth. It democratises media distribution as you do not have to pay for expensive hosting or cloud storage, meaning you can download pirate files without having to pay Turbobit, Rapidgator or other service for a speed faster than a few hundred kb/s.
Register with an Outlook or Tuta you use only for Lemmy.
Reddit also does shadowbans for suspected spam users, meaning you could be banned on sign up without realising, so do the same there.

If you’re using this laptop to do work, then Mint or Zorin can’t be beat. They have user-friendly interfaces, they have stable packages meaning updates are unlikely to break your OS, and you can still install new software through Flatpak and Snap.
Once installed, install Librewolf for web browsing, VLC for video playback, OnlyOffice for MS Office files, and any other software you need from the built-in software store. If you choose Mint then you need to turn on unverified Flatpaks in the software store for everything to appear.
Also, with the original 1 x 4 GB of RAM and mechanical hard drive, this laptop will be slow with a modern OS, so I recommend upgrading it to 8 GB RAM (2 x 4 GB is recommended for dual channel speed) and an SSD beforehand.
It’s a show that predicted the influence the internet would have on people, and the influence that cults already had on people. Almost everything you see is a metaphor for something.
For example, the fact there are multiple Lains in the Wired is a metaphor for how everyone has a different view of you, and rumours and fake news can make those views entirely wrong.

Use a VPN with a circumvention protocol like Stunnel. Windscribe has a ‘stealth’ mode using it.
My 2.0 signal advice is for those using the built-in TV speakers or a soundbar who wonder why dialouge is so quiet.
Also, most TV’s don’t have an arbitrary slider for gamma. 2.2 is a target that many of the same model of TV should be within about 0.5 of when selected.
That advice is for those using LCD TVs with a 300 nit max brightness, not a 1000 nit OLED where BT.1886 may be more appropriate.
Set the gamma to 2.2 and make sure the eco mode is turned off.
You should also select the 2.0 audio track when available, or try the dynamic compression/volume normalisation setting.
It’s pretty new
Almost all TVs come with a power saving or eco mode enabled by default which ruins visibility. Find that in the settings and turn it off. You should also turn off motion interpolation (e.g Trumotion, Clear Motion Plus, Motionflow) so motion doesn’t become a smeary and artificial mess.
You can usually fix it by turning off power saving/eco mode and setting the gamma to 2.2 on your TV. You should also turn off motion smoothing (Trumotion/Auto Motion Plus/Motionflow/Clear Motion) so motion doesn’t look overly smooth and fake.
I think the Wired of Serial Experiments Lain is pretty accurate.
Companies like Meta are actively trying to create an immersive digital world (the “metaverse”) like the Wired.
And the Wired is symbolic of the issues with the modern internet, from the escapism and addiction to rumors to false information shaping peoples views to companies controlling the world throigh algorithms and censorship.
The multiple Lains are symbolic of how everyone can a different view of you and your opinions, often shaped by lies, and the Wired Lain which is the one of these actually controlled by her is symbolic of how we act differently online than in real life.
Masami Eiri is symbolic of companies and powerful individuals controlling online narratives and owning most of the internet you interact with.
The Phantoma game is symbolic of how the things that happen and the things that are said online have real world consequences.
It is an absolutely brilliant show which I highly recommend watching if you like visual metaphors.
