I use an Anker USB hub with power delivery and it’s completely hot swappable, I would be incredibly surprised if the official dock wasn’t.

If they upgraded to Wayland they would have to rework their streaming protocol to function with Wayland and probably several other things need to be reworked. I use plasma 6 with Wayland on my endeavor install, but I still can’t use discord streaming or steam in home streaming without problems. The x11 to Wayland video bridge by the kde devs isn’t even updated to work properly.
Honestly just shows how dialed in the steam deck is, it’s why I won’t ever buy one of their competitors.
Both versions were tested on Steam Deck OLED models with no CryoUtilities and a UMA Buffer set to 1G (default).
No, just no, I hate testing like this, it’s not a stock deck with the 1G uma buffer, it’s just not, and the OLED deck is already known to be more power efficient and has a small fps improvement due to that power efficiency. They should be testing with the middle ground LCD deck with no buffer modifications and then test with modifications to see the difference.
As a long time steam link user, I’m not surprised. Even the little steam link box was a hit or miss with each update, especially with AMD hardware.
lol these mf’ers are trying to EEE playstation and nintendo, what a pathetic company.
We’ve stuck with fire tablets forever, they can install the Google Play store and the kids tablets still receive updates a few years later. The newest ones have USB-C, headphone jack, good enough WiFi for us 2.4 and 5GHz, and can be picked up under $100. The 8" version is really good and they have a 10" version as well. I know fire os isn’t amazing and gets a ton of flack but it works for what it’s designed to do.
LOL you think I’m a PCMR neckbeard? My PC is old, it’s running a Vega56, not even in the last two generations of graphics cards, I’m fine with 30FPS when it makes sense but I’m talking sub-25FPS with shit frame times that make it feel like a damn slideshow. I prefer consoles, FFS I run a steam deck docked to my TV more than I use my gaming PC. Why do you think I use GeForce Now? So I can play games on high settings and not deal with settings that make my games look like they’re running on an N64. You keep calling me a member of PCMR if you want but I’m not ever here riding Bethesda dick for a shitty game.
Starfield plays like shit, looks like shit (by today’s standards) and the quests are shit. Neon is a lazy world that only ends up becoming one giant hallway with a few shops. Everywhere else feels lifeless and boring. Starfield was a flop, and while Elex isn’t the best game out there, the fact that it can in fact in some situations stand toe to toe with Starfield on graphical fidelity is just an absolute disgrace. I was on a desert planet in Starfrield in the main story (can’t remember the name) at night, on a balcony running on GeForce Now with an RTX 2080 and getting less than 24FPS, that’s absolutely pathetic, game is just bad.
Why immutable? I’ve seen this sentiment before but I’m not really sure what the benefits truly are other than easily upgrading the OS and distro agnostic applications, but even that’s kind of not really a benefit IMO.
Thanks for the heads up, I typically use protonGE and proton experimental, I did see some of those reports.
Picked up a couple boomer shooters today, cultic and forgive me father. Hopefully going to play these on my deck tonight.
Interesting, okay I’ll try it again when I have a chance.
Oh cool, is there anyway mount a secondary drive? Whenever I try to mount a secondary drive, steam doesn’t seem to see it when using the steam arch install.
This is really good information, but I just can’t get behind it I’m sorry. Things started to go downhill once dlss and fsr really started to take off and it’s shown in damn near every major PC port. Remnant 2 is another culprit, the game ran like trash, even when I was running it through an rtx 4080 on GeForce now. I couldn’t get it to go above 45fps even in 1440p on high settings without dlss in ward 13. This is becoming more commonplace with every release, baldurs gate 3 seems to be the only exception.
I tried installing this but both signing the install and the arch sandbox as well as several other setup steps in the bazzite setup would fail looking for a justfile.
If fsr and dlss are any indication, new technology has the capability of improving that performance for lower end hardware. The problem we’re seeing now is that games are using dlss and fsr to “optimize” games instead of optimizing the game first then adding those technologies afterwards. I’m not saying every dev is doing this, but there are clear standouts where fsr and dlss are being used to pick up the slack for optimization, Starfield being the latest culprit.
You’re full of shit. Post the logs or GTFO. You probably haven’t enabled the next Gen driver for Xbox controllers or even basic Xbox controller support or even generic controller support. Your tv probably has a setting that controls the HDMI port signal and it’s unable to detect the connection because the dock isn’t providing enough of a signal for your TV to detect, turn that shit off because it’s trash. Your video doesn’t show shit, just you being a dumbass. How is anyone supposed to help you when all you post is you holding up your controller and literally nothing else? Also, your steam streaming of baldurs gate is that small because you’re too stupid to change the output on the streaming device to match the resolution of the TV. Stop blaming valve for your blind bullshit ignorance.
It doesn’t matter, all that means is you created an account on a different instance/server that can access content on .world, it’s the same situation the other way around, .world to .ml instances. It takes a bit to get used to it but after a while it just starts to feel like Reddit but with more meaningful conversations. I have an account on both instances in case one goes down I can still access the same content, that’s the beauty of the fediverse.
Hal effect or GTFO
