The problem is this doesn’t really stack up if your eating a lot of stuff thats been put on reduction. Full price meat is really expensive but 90% off meat works out cheaper than vegetables on a per calorie basis. (Vegetables never go on reduction)

I got one!, there are only 3 trees in existence (only 1 mature enough to fruit and 2 cuttings) rn and the apples taste kinda like pears but with an apple texture.
In the US cops routinely beat up unarmed peaceful protestors while being pretty respectful to armed but still ostensibly peaceful protestors.
Microsoft have been doing this for decaces, they’re low key known for aquiring good IPs and then just shuttering them forever.
The placebo effect also works even if you know its a placebo… Though sometimes I wonder if that information is in itself some kind of benevolent false information campaign to create a second layer of placebo effect around placebos. A placebo effect of the placebo effect working even if you know about it as it were.
I still never understood what Cuba actually did that makes the US sanction them to this day. As far as I can tell they were a neutral country actually leaning slightly in favour of the US right up until they were suddenly branded communist (in the soviet sense) and more or less pushed into Russias arms.
(Non american here) could you even get out of paying? I imagine refusing to pay for months would get you thrown in jail, re-fined or have your license taken away. And once you finally are proven innocent getting any money back from a beurocracy is slightly harder than getting blood from a stone.
Honestly what roblox kids are willing to do for pitiful pay is scary, if you work in any kind of creative digital medium those kids will do days of your job for a fiver if any real money at all. It won’t be industry quality or anything but damn we got a whole digital version of sending kids down the mines. (And some of these roblox games can have unexpectedly big players behind them exploiting kids)
Still being figured out, recent measurements made the hubble tension worse and we’re currently trying to better understand how voids influence the movement of galaxies; one possible result which could be the discovery that the universe isn’t inflating at all (unlikely but credible enough to be investigated).
Eh pathfinder 2e is definetaly better than D&D but 1e is honestly really harsh in terms of character builds.
On the other hand in certain applications you can replace a significant amount of programming ability with a good undertstanding of vector maths.
My personal issue with github is more the placement of the actual download links, sometimes its harder to find than the real download button on a dodgy pirate site without ad-block.
Damn thats an incredible degree of overreach and looks like it gives established companies the power to take down any rising competitions websites without oversight.
to be fair plenty of older games hold up today in terms of gameplay if you don’t mind dated graphics (or if the game uses a timeless visual style). There are a few that I’d totally pay full price for a re-release simply because its hard to get them to run on modern systems.
Didn’t colonial marine turn out to actually have really good AI that totally changed the game feel that had been broken by a single misplaced semi-colon or something?
There are some real life fungi that are radiotrophic (like photosynthesis but with radiation [ok light is also a kind of radiation but you know what I mean]) So at least part of that makes sense but not the adsorbing a nuclear blast bit.
Pff the UK is spending that on a 70 mile railway thats going to be slower than the one already there, already spent nearly 2x the projected FCC budget on just 6 miles of the fucking thing.
Generally also beats a sword except in pretty specialized circumstances.
But thats a pretty big, ‘if not’. Its ‘if not for the totally predictable thing thats been happening in this area semi-reliably for longer than our civilisation has existed and we are totally unable to stop’
iirc there’s something called ‘depressive realism’ where depressed or otherwise overly pessimistic people tend to be more accurate at predicting outcomes. The implication being that to function as human beings we have to be at least slightly deluded at all times.
