Are we seriously still, in the year 2024
I was a teenager in the 70’s, and I agree, this is NOT the future I dreamed about.
The Tesla model S came out in 2012. I just remember that when Musk made that tweet, I’d already identified Musk as a conman.
But I don’t remember anything in particular that stood out as much before that tweet. Except he had already failed on his promise on FSD, with little to show it was even close. I also remember identifying him as an introvert narcissist. Which is kind of an oxymoron, but nonetheless describes his public social conduct.
If you are old, do you remember Lee Iacocca (Chrysler)? Or Jack Tramiel (Commodore)?
Those were stellar businessmen and CEOs, that were geniuses without being narcissistic sociopaths.
Those were true role models. 😀
it’s been like 4 years.
I think it’s pretty obviously been more than that: https://edition.cnn.com/2019/12/03/media/elon-musk-testifies/index.html
On July 15, 2018, Musk tweeted “pedo guy” in reference to Vernon Unsworth
For the worlds richest man, and CEO of multiple companies to tweet like that, you’d have to be pretty far gone already.
Musk has probably “had issues” most of his life, but at this point he obviously lost control publicly, and was unable to contain it.
Musk is a spoiled brat who thinks his behavior has no consequences to him. This continues to be mostly true, so his behavior gets steadily worse, because he has no shame and no reason to believe he will be held accountable.
You know what? I think most people would be reasonably happy with “mostly righteous” and not obviously corrupt.
The point is that frivolous claims aren’t punished. It’s a delay tactic yes, but there are rules against wasting the courts time.
It’s sickening how republicans keep cheating illegally and abuse the system, undermining democracy, there should be costs for that.
The notice filed by lawyers for Musk and his America PAC argue that because that PAC is registered as a federal entity, it is not subject to state law.
WTF?
They just use the lamest arguments, it’s all about plausible deniability, except plausible somehow went out the window. so now it’s just deniability,
and a corrupt judge will allow it!! It’s insane how Republicans manage to move the goal posts, let’s hope they won’t succeed this time.
Corrupt judges really need to be removed, starting with supreme court.
Just wear a MAGA hat, and you might pull it off.
Wow, that’s a lot less than 5 years. And he even did it on purpose!!!
The “testing” excuse is totally irrelevant, but he is white and he is Republican…
The argument that you can’t have water proof replaceable batteries is silly, and it’s very obviously false, lots of gadgets do that.
Some make similar claims with mini jack, but that too is absolutely possible, for instance Sony has/had that.
It’s the same principle as waterproofing an USB/charging conecter, and AFAIK ALL phones with IP68 rating have USB/Charging ports.
Unfortunately if your IP68 phone has a glass back, that can easily crack, and that will compromise the IP68 feature.
In that way, my IP68 phone was only intact for 4 months. 😱
Thanks, brain fart. 😋
No that’s a false narrative, the criminal cases are based on public prosecutors running them.
What you are claiming is for civil suits, of which a couple have been settled, despite obstruction attempts by Trump.
If it gets to a point where a politician can ask public prosecutors to put opponents in jail, USA has long ceased to be a democracy.
Trump is already a convicted criminal, and cannot vote in several states, still he can run for president, and enjoy privileged treatment.
Where an ordinary person voting because she was told she could, got 5 years prison for voter fraud!
No, Nixon stepped down because of Watergate, you won’t see similar honesty from Republicans today.
They are exploiting the judicial system, and to Prosecute Trump for things he did in the open as president to enrich himself and his family isn’t pursued, even now after 8 years.
After Nixon the Republicans decided to try to control the courts and the political narrative, so they never would lose a case either legally or in the public eye like Watergate again.
Republicans have been systematically undermining USA for 5 decades now.
It’s way past the time to stop it, If Harris doesn’t win, and start the process towards legal and political normalcy, it could easily be to late.
criminal cases and civil lawsuits that are on hold until after the election.
Why are they on hold? It’s insane it’s taken so long to push those cases, and it’s even more insane if they are on hold.
Trump is a normal citizen, and shouldn’t enjoy special privileges.
Except USA is no-longer a country of law, it’s a corrupt oligarchy.
Yes, Musk absolutely needs another warning that it’s a 5 year prison offense. /s
That SOC has a MALI GPU, and last I heard MALI drivers are flaky in Linux.
Not having “out of the box”
Where did I say it should absolutely work “out of the box?” Compiling your own drivers can be OK too, but obviously less convenient.
All distros are the same,
No they are definitely not, there are huge differences in availability, quality, configuration and age of packaged software. And finally there are differences in security updates. Also the difference in hardware makes a difference in how well it’s supported with drivers.
A general problem with Arm is that the GPU is poorly supported, and if you want stable drivers, you have tro use an old kernel.
Your response reeks of propaganda.
They’re objectively better
From what I heard, Orange Pi had lots of software problems for instance with drivers, and the quality of distros are not nearly as good as the official for Raspberry Pi.
Absolutely, My kitchen scale remains accurate and can use the same battery for years.
