This. I lost 7 years to a well payed job I needed due to financial mistakes I’m still recovering from. My new job pays about 25% less but even then I’m down to 25 more month until I’m done. I don’t remember anything of those 7 years except when covid hit and I got super depressed, and that one time I was dating this girl for 3 months and I willingly made time for her, like taking a 4 hour walk or urbexing for a day. Now I’m back at doing nothing but work and housework, cook dinner and being “forced” to spend the evening watching movies… longest time in the last 2 years was a 3 month job training, felt like a whole year.

Get out, do something, get new experiences. Make time for that.

  • I get 1 nice drone or 2 small ones.

Lost a 500€ infrared drone 2 days ago in a sugar beet field because “I don’t need the GPS when flying near the street” and then I was too high to make out if it was a deer or a rabbit and the powerline in between disrupted the radio signal, so the drone went into failsave and stopped all movement, getting carried by the wind into the field and it fell in a way that the battery disconnected… thank you for reading… I’m sad now…

  • Well actually it’s to do something with the stock market and I think the 70s or 80s where they (the money hungry should-be-deads) ditched a law that was implemented during the Great Depression to never have something like that ever again.

Well, guess what! I’m currently living through my 3rd or 4th economic crisis 👁️👄👁️

  • We here in the Apple Garden know that Apple takes all our usage data and trust then that they are used anonymously. But Apple has no access to data when it is encrypted, they even warn you when you encrypt your data that you need to safe the keys yourself, they can only delete everything if you lose them.

I was in a similar situation, but I got a MacBook M1 for literally everything but PC exclusive gaming, and I kept my gaming rig dual booting windows (on the HDD) and Pop!_OS (boots automatically, saved on SSD).

Why did I get a MacBook? I just wanted it. I‘d probably throw SteamOS on the gaming rig one day and use steam-link with an Ethernet cable to stream the games to the MacBook.

And yes, Linux is really easy to use nowadays. I’ve been thinking of throwing a lightweight distro onto my parents laptop. They only use Firefox so they won’t even notice it lol
