We gatekeeping liking the Fediverse now?

We gatekeeping liking the Fediverse now?
Hang on. You can get blocked by AI for asking what it deems are inappropriate questions?
The easy, low-cost solution is to build freight rail. But no, that’s communism and it doesn’t get a tech billionaire their extra billion.
I kinda think Voyager failing the test despite Janeway is still a symptom of a representation issue. The test was designed because there are plenty of fully fleshed out female characters in fiction, but usually they exist as exceptions in a man’s world and creators still feel too awkward writing women to have two or more of them having meaningful exchanges.
I’d say that despite Voyager being a trailblazer for representation with Janeway, it still had these exact issues. At least until Seven of Nine came along.
It’s still important to note that the test is in no way a formal analysis, and not even its creator claims this.
I’m amused at Voyager not hitting close to 100% for every season with Janeway in the lead. Like, season 3 only has ~65%?!
I’ve dabbled in crypto and I use Revolut extensively when traveling. When I saw Revolut was starting to push crypto, I got really nervous about their legitimacy as a financial institution.
I’m glad they’re getting out.
I used to love Sync, but hear me out: Infinity is FOSS and it currently is much nicer and easier to use.
I’m grateful to the creator of Sync for bringing over the app to the Fediverse, and I’ll never begrudge anyone for sticking with it or even paying an outrageous price to not have to see ads even though Lemmy has none to begin with. All I’m saying is, you just switched from Reddit to Lemmy, now’s the perfect time to try something new.
I would think so. Means Poland is taking extra steps to weed itself of Russian influence. One step further in isolating themselves from Russian interference.
The Polish Parliament has adopted a law that will create a commission to investigate Russian interference in Polish affairs over the last decade and a half. The law was toned down a bit, but the opposition is still concerned it could be used against them in upcoming elections.
Just downloaded and holy crap, this thing is smooth as butter. Already more functional than that $115 closed-source alternative. Instant switch for me.
Works for me!
Literally the first thread I reply to on the app.
Feels so good to be back!
I went and checked… That’s a mischaracterisation. A lot of people are excited, a lot of people are asking what Lemmy is. Some people are saying it sucks but that’s not the general vibe. There are quite a few people saying they visit both Reddit and Lemmy and enjoy Lemmy a lot more and go there first.
Jives with my own experience, TBH.
50% since Russia’s gains early in the war, and most of it in late 2022 during the first counter-offensive.
They have NOT been making major gains during the current counter-offensive, unfortunately.
