ā¢ āI swear, youāve read those first contact protocols more than Picard.ā Gwyn is too polite to reply that she, an alien child who grew up in a Delta Quadrant labour camp, has has no context for who Admiral Jean-Luc Picard is, even if he was captain of Starfleetās flagship.
ā¢ Asencia [Jameela Jamil] escaped capture in the previous seasonās āSupernova, Part 1ā after murdering the Diviner.
ā¢ Janewayās admiralās log records the stardate as 61859.6.
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ The most recent stardate prior this episode was 61302.7, given in the fourteenth episode of season one, āCrossroadsā.
ā¢ This is the first time weāre learning that the Divinerās [John Noble] name wasā¦is? Ilthuran. In season one, he was only ever referred to by his title.
ā¢ āWe were just a bunch of nobodies on a rock. No hope, no future, until we found that ship.ā Dal is referring to the events of the season one premiere episodes āLost and Foundā.
ā¢ The crew of the USS Voyager and their allies used temporal shielding during conflicts with the Krenim during āYear of Hellā and āYear of Hell, Part IIā.
ā¢ āRefuse to help my own daughter? Surely I donāt make that bad of a father, do I?ā The Diviner choose to abandon Gwyn on a sentient planet that manifested the nightmares of its inhabitants and then consumed them in āTerror Firmaā.
ā¢ The Vulcan Nova Squadron cadet is named Majāel, for the late Majel Barrett, who portrayed:
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Number One
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Christine Chapel
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Lwaxana Troi
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ The Computer in TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, āStar Trek Generationsā, āStar Trek First Contactā, āStar Trek Insurrectionā, āStar Trek Nemesisā, and 2009ās āStar Trekā
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Several other characters in TAS, including Amanda Greyson and MāRess
ā¢ This is the first on screen mention of a sonic toilet.
ā¢ Majāel claims that Vulcan psychic abilities are enhanced in the presence of other telepaths. I believe this is the first time this has been explicitly stated, or even implied on screen.
ā¢ One of the crew who gets on the turbolift with Majāel calls for deck 32. In the previous episode, Zero said that the USS Voyager A has 29 decks.
ā¢ āWarp cores are so beautiful up close. Itās the delta radiation.ā Delta radiation? You mean the thing that melted captain Christopher Pike and consigned him to a tortured existence in a beep chair? Too soon, Zero, too soon.
Ā Ā Ā ā¢ Mirror Charles Tucker III was also deformed by long term exposure to delta rays.
The crew of the USS Voyager and their allies used temporal shielding during conflicts with the Krenim during āYear of Hellā and āYear of Hell, Part IIā.
Since everything that happened in YoH got reset, I guess that implies Starfleet separately (re) discovered / invented the temporal shielding.
One of the crew who gets on the turbolift with Majāel calls for deck 32. In the previous episode, Zero said that the USS Voyager A has 29 decks.
Is that a production mistake or
Spoiler since I don't recall exactly which episode this was mentioned in and may be getting ahead of things
ā¦is it a hint that thereās more classified areas on the Voyager-A? Alternatively, is that the deck where shuttle bay 3 is located, and I just completely missed that?
My assumption was error in the āStar Trek: First Contactā tradition.
DANIELS: Itās pretty bad, sir. It looks like they control decks 26 up to 11.
PICARD: There are 24 decks. Almost 700 metres long.
I think youāre good on spoilers since it is the first episode where the shuttlebay three reveal happens.
The crew knows that shuttle bay three is there, they just call it āthe restricted hangerā which makes me question what the difference between a shuttle bay and a hanger is. I donāt think that accounts for the three missing decks. It could be that Zero was simply wrong.
Or it could be that deck numbering aboard Starfleet ships makes no damn sense.
Also, unless you count the Infinity there arenāt any shuttles in shuttle bay three.
which makes me question what the difference between a shuttle bay and a hanger is.
Almost makes you nostalgic for Voyagerās āShuttlebay 2.ā
