So last week I ordered some new earplugs for concerts, bandpractice and such, and they have failed to arrive. I’m a pretty patient dude so I wait for a couple of days thinking it’s just taking a bit longer.

Browsing through my mail I find out that they have apparently been delivered days ago.

Now the earplugs I ordered were clear, but I highly doubt they are invisible. No card was left in the mailbox, no “hey we delivered it at your neighbor’s place even though you were home…” Checking the track and trace says it was delivered yet they are not.

I try not to assume malice, but I’m pretty peeved about this, and it has got me wondering what your experiences are with goods that have mysteriously vanished upon delivery?

I think it depends where you live, but if you have a mailbox and never got a package that’s mailbox-sized, you may be able to get a replacement. People definitely do steal boxes sometimes, but fedex and ups also sometimes mark things as delivered a day early or make mistakes. I think refunds and replacements probably depend on where you bought it from, but if you know you’re getting something it might help to stick a camera out there or ask a neighbor to keep an eye out.
