I have been walking to the nearest grocery, and have just had my foldable shopping cart break. The large plastic wheels shattered, and made for a very unpleasant time dragging the thing back home. I’m curious if anyone has suggestions for a good cart, or even one that’s relatively easy to repair. Foldable is not important. Not getting stuck on every crack in the sidewalk would be a plus.

I’d suggest replacing the wheels on your existing cart. Look at either Amazon or a skate shop. I did this and added 5 years to our suitcases. Bonus- they roll better now than they ever did.

Do you also ride a bike? I can highly recommend the Burley Travoy trailer + the upper and lower market bags. It can attach to most bikes with the included seat post mount, but it can also be wheeled around as a shopping cart. I use it for groceries and errands all the time, and it’s super easy to take off the bike and wheel it into a store.

And because it’s made as a bike trailer, it handles way more abuse than you could ever dish out by walking it around. It can carry approx. 60lbs of cargo (I’ve had nearly that amount on it).

It’s not cheap, unfortunately. And even though I do recommend the upper and lower market bags, they are an investment for sure. They work seamlessly with the Travoy, and even though I’ve attached other bags to it, nothing compares to the simplicity of the market bags.

And when you’re done, it all folds up super compact! The wheels are 16", so they handle anything.

Im using that one since 2021 for at least one heavy shopping trip per week and am pleased with it so far. Still is in very good condition and will hopefully be for many years to come.

If the meister ever breaks i will treat myself to one of those. They are always in the top in rankings and can tolerate loads of weight.

Spare parts are available for both so repairability is alsp no problem

Not sure if these are available were ever you live. :)
