It may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Asymmetry is my favorite Karnivool album. As much as I love Sound Awake, I feel like this is their most coherent album. Here’s just hoping we can get some more material from them soon.
The more I listen to Asymmetry the more it grows on me. I think the reason I still prefer SA though is largely due to the production, rather than the songs themselves. SA is just more smooth and easier to listen to. It’s like Asymmetry has all these jagged edges that just makes it harder to consume aurally for me…
That said, ‘We Are’ remains my favourite Vool song by a long way.
Agreed. ‘The Last Few’ is another one that will always be a favorite.
Has there not been any other activity after the single released a couple of years ago?
Their drummer was on the downbeat pod recently and basically said they have hard drives stacked with ideas but havent managed to get together to put full songs together yet while admitting that they were busy guys. Birds of tokyo are still touring so i think that slows things down too
