“It’s totally because the MAGA gen-zers we’re trying to reach don’t like these words, guys. It’s not us! We’re totally fine with them, we swear!”

The effect of this language is to sound like the extreme, divisive, elitist, and obfuscatory, enforcers of wokeness.

I love how people think they’re Centrist while unironically using the far-right’s definition of “woke”. Self-proclaimed ‘centrists’, like current Libertarians, are just right-wingers who don’t like Trump.

    This is dumb advice.

Use the words you want and expect but don’t demand MAGA conform. If the get triggered move on and ignore their hate. Best way to show them how powerless their hate is, is to actually make it powerless.

It reads like a psyop to maintain the status quo. This would be inflamitory for either side to read. Education and deprogramning religious/capitalistic brainwashing is the only solution.

In my family I generally play the role of mediator to my far right and left family members. The conversations are much more productive when you dont apeal to anyones feelings, deconstruct arguments and give each person time to lay out their perspective regardless of how warped it might be. Also reminding everyone that the person across from you is NOT your enemy. Everyone seems to agree that the animosity they feel for the opposing side is likely manufactured to maintain the status quo at the end of our discussions.

my far right family are usually the ones having trouble with critical thinking, and the leftists are generally insanely insensitive. Its really ironic because I belive they veiw themselves the opposite way. Right wingers are generally more sucessful so they “feel” smarter but dont even know what the dunning kruger effect is. Where as my left wing family fancy themselves to be the most sensitve and claim to care about everyone equally, but will say the most horrid things to them regardless of feelings.

That’s because that’s what it is. ‘Centrists’ are ok with the way things are, and are actively cozying up to the MAGAts.

Strawman argument: I appreciate you putting centrist in quotes to differ them from the agreed upon definition, But thats just an apologist. Theres no need to redefine centrist, there is a word for fake centrists.

To add to this there is IMO no such thing as a “true centrist”. All people are going to allign themselves with certain ideals and are not disconnected from the society that they comment on.

The closest thing Ive come across would be a person who ignores all other ideals and simply wants to minimize harm. Even this, taken to an extreme would lead to a totalitarian system so intense that peace would feel like a prison
