This is my second year in Tucson, I made it through last summer mostly unscathed but I don’t know if it was an easy summer compared to what’s typical.
Last year had about the same as prior years, but it was kinda late. So it seemed like more near the end there. Then it slid into a rather wet winter season which was interesting.
I think the year prior had more rain, I was in the process of moving “back” to Tucson at that time. (Originally from Casa Grande). The Catalina’s looked way greener in August 2021 than August 2022 IMO.
I remember monsoon seasons so bad that the schoolbus couldn’t get to my block from the flooding. Ah “flash flood days”… Average season meant like 1-2 of them. A bad season could see 3-4.
EDIT: CORRECTION - I just learned that last year’s monsoon was the 7th wettest on record. I stand corrected!
