Summary

A government shutdown could disrupt key activities for Trump’s presidential transition and inauguration, adding chaos to an already vulnerable process.

Federal staff are uncertain how their work with the transition team will be impacted, as most would be barred from communication unless deemed “essential” under the Antideficiency Act.

The shutdown threat emerged after Trump’s team, led by Elon Musk, derailed a bipartisan funding bill by demanding debt ceiling concessions.

This has left Republican leaders scrambling ahead of the Friday funding deadline.

Because it was going to be so smooth and normal without the government being shut down.

He doesn’t care. He wants the chaos.

Also easier to steamroll over any legislative resistance if the government is shutdown. I would have mentioned judicial too, but we already know they’ll be on their knees with their mouths open

If the shutdown f-cks up the inauguration, I would not consider it a loss, but a lesson that was necessary to be learned.

I try to stay out of American politics, but Trump had decided he wants into ours, so the embargo is off.

Congrats to President Musk out here showing he’s got more balls than Trump.

He’s going to mess up Trump’s big day because he holds the purse strings and has the GOP by the balls.

Or maybe the Capitol Police or whoever provides crowd control at the Inauguration? Be interesting if he got mobbed by his own supporters
