If you feel better near salt water, you're not making it up. It's called thalassotherapy.

After a tweet went viral asking people whether they felt better when by the ocean, doctors explain why this happens. It's called thalassotherapy.

Is it salt water or just massive bodies of water?

Both. There’s an effect from large bodies of water, streams, even pools. Then there’s an effect from salt water.

There’s even an effect from being in green spaces like forests in summer that has an effect on pain tolerance. You can buy a specific wavelength green light, 525nm, that can help with pain. I have one, and honestly if it’s placebo then I’ll take it, I’m not proud lol. It’s called an “Allay” lamp. https://allaylamp.com/ (I’m not affiliated with them, just a customer)

Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. Geographers explore both the physical properties of Earth’s surface and the human societies spread across it. They also examine how human culture interacts with the natural environment and the way that locations and places can have an impact on people. Geography seeks to understand where things are found, why they are there, and how they develop and change over time. Read more…
