Anyone watching the new foundation series? Thought I’d post a thread for the most recent episode to see if there’s any interest.

    Might want to provide some discussion guidance for book readers.

    Otherwise, I thought the episode was pretty good. Definitely not as good as last episode.

    Unlike the books, magnifico is not the mule. The mule is simply too capable alone. Though it’s still not out of the realm of possibility entirely.

      Good idea! I’ve edited my post. How have you felt so far about the changes the show has made?

      I’ve generally seen people like the genetic dynasty plotline but other than that it’s been a very long time since I read the first 2 books so it’s hard for me to remember all the differences.

      Also I agree I think the show is going to leave that twist out since “the mule” has been a bit too strong my himself but we’ll see if they explain that somehow and still do the twist.

        I too appreciate the genetic dynasty story. In the original trilogy the various Emperors were featured so rarely and depicted as utterly incompetent. I think the TV adaptation does a much better job of creating a more compelling and nuanced story for the empire. Not to mention - Lee Pace and others do such an excellent job of playing these various “versions” of themselves.

        As an aside, I wonder if

        We’ll get a mention of Dors Venabili as an explanation of why Seldon knew Demerzel was a robot.

        Demerzel transitions to R. Daneel Olivaw in time for Season 5. Or if Olivaw is made into a separate entity for the TV adaptation.
