We have “civilian service” as alternative to armed service in the military. Those people work in schools, libraries, (public) museums, that sort of places

I care when someone claims that they did. It’s important to gets the facts straight imo. They commenter you’re replying to didn’t imply Gates was a good guy or something.
The disadvantage of a shorthand compared to just a numbered list might be that people think it’s strictly one after the another instead of groups
They aren’t using the same words so the shorthand (if they have one) is different. I don’t think we had a shorthand for it either, we just learned it.
And we learned them in groups numbered like the Swedes
Something funny about everyone being so eager to show how they can solve this
Is this the guy who got his bike stolen

For anyone wondering about the total, I didn’t see the number of deaths in the jail article but Vietnam War and War on Terror high estimates for the total for all sides, including civilians comes to around 7 million.
I expected more tbh. That’s rookie numbers, pretty sure Nazi Germany killed way more and even someone like Mao alone drwafs those numbers. Smdh USA are you even trying

Sonetimes that’s the turning lane. It doesn’t make much sense to bop in and out of that one. If it is a regular lane and additional turning lanes are to the right of that then sure
I don’t think we ever drank from it without letting it run for a bit lol

They used to be, since it’s not as traditional or “manly”. But there’s a lot less of that sort of attitude these days. You’ve done your service after all.
