As much as we might want to romanticise the idea of spending 6, 12, 24 months attempting to come up with an even vaguely competitive alternative to systemd,
There are alternatives like runit, dinit, s6. About some of the more useful features of systemd, how about we recreate them without thight coupling to one specific init+service manager-in-one?
Yeah, kill the leaders, they deserve it.
My usual onlineshop got a redesign (sort of). Now, the site loads the header, then the account and cart icons blink a while and after a few seconds it loads the content.
Needs more space for his parades.
It matches my understanding of the Android situation. What is your issue?
I’ve noticed that my Poco F1 with 1/3 more battery but a good enough CPU runs around 3 times as long as my 5 years newer OnePlus 9, both running LineageOS 22 and same usage.
Maybe we are way past the curve where more processing power means shorter processing times/more energy savings vs. going full power for every little bit.
In summary, why would you still pay over $400 for a phone nowadays, if all you get is a better camera (which still doesn’t make noticeably better photos) and less battery time?
Not yet. Panel autohide is bound to the WM (notebook display is small enough already), which doesn’t work with niri. Currently fiddling with Waybar. I just need a task panel, tray and clock + battery.
Right, need to check that.
xfce4-terminal, in wayland+niri too. Because alternatives are always missing some features or are too bloated.
Time to cancel the paid subscription for fast download i guess.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don’t know jack about Youtube app, don’t use it.
Artix, basically Arch. Replaced Pulseaudio with Pipewire as user service. Same issue with PA tho.
Yeah, i read a bit into Elementary later and hard to change design was a common complaint.

I vastly prefer connman/iwd, always had weird issues with NM. Currently running connman-gtk on XFCE.
And tweaking to your needs, isn’t that expected for a new desktop setup? One hour isn’t even that much.
I’m amazed again and again how stuck even technical people can be in their habits.
And in breeding/science, it’s to not get pollen to the wrong plants.
