Do you really think there are no cameras at power plants, landfills, and waste incineration facilities?

Farms, maybe there are not many cameras, but what would be the point of covering thousands of acres of corn with cctv?

What point is even trying to be made? Or is this just some random hot take that’s supposed to rile people up in the 3 seconds before they scroll past and forget about it?

There are a couple farms I’m aware of in my country that have public camera feeds to prove their chickens are being treated well.

You could say the same about the Simpsons today, where in the early 90’s it was groundbreaking and novel.

It’s already made its mark and become so integrated into the media landscape that it is tropey and simple now.

The point being made is very obviously not about literal cameras, but rather about what the media reporting focuses on and where public awareness is. It’s interesting that this comment made you so angry that you felt the need to write that comment.

Ah, the old “U mad bro” rebuttal

But you have a point though. There’s totally no media coverage of green/fossil fuels, factory farming, or trash contaminating the oceans.

Aren’t there cameras in all these places though? What is this even trying to say; is there some kind of secretive power plant conspiracy going on?

When there is news about those places there’s news about those places; lots of people talked about, say, Fukushima when that was going down. Overall I just don’t think that’s the reading the Tweet author was going for, or if it was I don’t think they said it very well.

We are in a middle of a climate catastrophe right now precisely because we don’t discuss the actual impact of energy production and pollution it creates. Nor are most people aware of what’s involved in food production and the problems associated with that. Incidents like Fukushima get coverage, but business is usual is far more problematic than people realize. Your comment illustrates the problem the tweet is talking about perfectly.
